We continue to work, work, work our booties off with the occasional relaxing beach day at our favorite Boca Grande Beach or take a boat out and explore our local waterways of Southwest Florida. Boat projects that have been keeping us busy include new engine gauges for oil, temperature and volts, engine flush, a much needed new battery charger for our bank of 7 batteries and we’ll be installing our king size Sleep Number bed soon, very excited! We’re doing our best to maintain our Work/Life balance, but it’s difficult.
Working “season” here in Florida is a crazy trip for me. The restaurant is ridiculously busy. I’m constantly trying to keep up, be better, share our story in a nutshell if the moment arises – all the while survive on a ultra thin budget and save as much as possible for our ultimate goal – Bahamas. Yeaaaaaaa, this is going to take longer than expected. Baby steps towards goals, right? Well, we be baby stepping it, staying focused and keeping a good attitude.
We were incredibly lucky enough to receive a visit from family recently and it was AWESOME! One of my favorite parts was fishing with Man Overboard Charters. These guys ROCK! We headed out into the Gulf of Mexico to Captain Rick’s sweet spots and seriously scored! We caught black seabass, snapper, flounder, grunts, sand perch, toad fish, porgies, pig fish, lizard fish, an octopus, and were blessed with rainbow sightings and dolphins dancing in our wake. Fish tacos, fish nachos, fish & chips and octopus on a Buddha bowl have been delicious! Give these guys a call if you want to fish and catch!
Thanks for checking us out and please share if you can!
Cheers, Aloha and Mahalo!
